Checkstack is a reusable checklist app for iPhone. You make a list once, tick it off, and reset it for next time. The reset is the point: instead of discarding the finished list, Checkstack saves it with the date, the time, and exactly which items you ticked, so a list you use every week becomes a record of the weeks you did it.

Common questions
What is a “run”?
One completed pass over a list. Every time you reset a checklist, Checkstack records a run: the date and time you reset it, how many of the items were ticked, and which ones. Open a list and the last few runs sit at the bottom, or tap through for the full log.
Does resetting lose my work?
The opposite. Resetting is how a run gets saved. It unchecks every item and keeps the list ready for next time, and the pass you just finished is written into the history. Nothing is retyped and nothing is deleted.
Can I reset a list I have not finished?
Yes. Open the list, tap the options button and choose Reset Checklist. The run is recorded as a partial one, so a week where you got four items out of six shows as exactly that rather than disappearing.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone, and nowhere else. Checkstack has no account and no server, so your lists and their history never leave the device. It works the same on a plane, in a basement, or at a campsite with no signal.
Is my data backed up?
Checkstack does not back anything up itself, because it never sends your data anywhere. Your lists are included in your normal iPhone backup, iCloud or encrypted to a Mac, like any other app’s data. Deleting the app deletes them.
Which languages does it support?
English, Spanish, Japanese and Dutch. The translations are a first pass and have not been reviewed by a native speaker. If something reads wrong to you, please tell me and I will fix it.
Does it work on iPad or Apple Watch?
Not yet. Checkstack is an iPhone app.
