This Privacy Policy applies to Combwell, the beekeeping logbook for iPhone published by Jafforge (“we”, “us”, “our”). It replaces our general apps policy for this app, because Combwell collects considerably less than that policy allows for.
Summary
Combwell collects nothing. It has no internet connection at all.
- No account, no sign-in, no email address, no name.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.
- Every hive record stays on your iPhone and is never transmitted anywhere.
- The app requests no system permissions — no location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts or notifications.
What we collect
Nothing. We have no server, and Combwell contains no networking code, so there is no mechanism by which your data could reach us even in principle.
What the app stores on your device
The records you enter, held in the app’s own local database on your iPhone:
- Yards and colonies, with the names and notes you give them
- Inspections — dates, varroa counts, brood and stores observations, temperament, queen status and your notes
- Treatments and harvests
- Your settings, such as the mite threshold and preferred weight unit
This data is written only to your device’s private app storage. It is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud Backup, or an encrypted backup to a Mac) under Apple’s terms, the same as any other app’s data, and it is deleted when you delete the app.
Exporting your data
Combwell can export your records as CSV files. When you do this, the app writes the files to a temporary folder on your device and hands them to the standard iOS share sheet. Where they go next is entirely your choice — Files, Mail, Messages, or another app you pick. We are not involved in that step and never receive a copy.
If you send an export to a third-party service such as an email provider or cloud storage, that service’s own privacy policy applies to it.
Third parties
There are none. Combwell bundles no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or attribution SDK, and makes no request to any server, ours or anyone else’s.
Children
Combwell is a tool for beekeepers and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Combwell adds a feature that changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the app’s release notes.
